I have had the same problem of replacing the ink cartridges for my printer. The manufacturers are running a rip off system which is very unfair. It breads no loyalty to a particular brand.
My main comment to you is that I found a web company in England which posts the cartridges by first class mail for free. Costs somehow must be met I know but in my case I can buy from this supplier at a cheaper rate than I could by posting my old cartridges for refill.
