Blog Juice Calculator

in Blogging/Review by

Blog Juice Calculator

Text Link Ads have created a new tool to measure the influence of your blog, the Blog Juice Calculator.

Blog Juice Calculator is a new measurements service that factors in information from Technorati Ranking (30%), Alexa Ranking (15%), Bloglines (40%), and incoming links from Technorati (15%) and comes up with a figure that you can use to represent your blog?s “juice”.

This morning when I checked my ranking was 3.8 points out of 10, so little “juice” for me. You can see my “juice” result here:

Blog Juice Calculator for supriyadisw dot net

This point motivates me to improve my blog structure and the popularity. My personal analysis for my “juice” result:

  • Bloglines (0): I should write more articles with good contents to make subscribers from Bloglines.
  • Alexa Ranking (92,035): I think it’s not a bad ranking 😉 because my Alexa Ranking in top 100,000.
  • Technorati Ranking (7,804): Not bad ranking. I got 13th ranking for Indonesian Blogger (http://www.hericz.net/peringkat/).
  • Links (1,529): I should to increase my incoming link to make a better “juice”.

My Two Cents

You can show your “juice” badge on your blog. But its show you a static image and will not update automatically when your “juice” change. Even you can show a fake “juice” badge on your blog. Please visit http://www.text-link-ads.com/blog_juice/badges/ and feel free to choose your own “juice” badge image just to make your blog look like have a great “juice” 😉 lol

New Revenue Source from Performancing

in Blogging/Review by

Today, I got email from Performancing about a new program from them. Performancing introduces Performancing Publisher Partners, offering bloggers yet another revenue source.

You can use Partners ads with AdSense in the same page. Partners ads are not exclusive and are not a contextual product so do not conflict with the terms of some other systems. Sound great! 😉

The Partner payouts for referrals is an attractive feature because it generates residual income over time. Residual income really helps when trying to create income over time by decoupling the revenue stream from your action.

Revenue share and residual income

The main points of revenue share are:

  • You take 70% of advertising revenue your blog generates.
  • Performancing takes 30%
  • You take 5% of income generated by any publisher or advertiser you refer to us

There are two ways in which a price can be set for ads on your blog:

  • You let us do all the work and use “auto pricing”, which means we set the price based on niche CPM averages and continually, algorithmically tweak the price for best results,
  • you can set it yourself.

My two cents

Partner ads sound great and I should to try this. By placing the Partners code on my blog I open my blog to a wide variety of advertisers whilst being free to concentrate on what I do best: Blog… Just what they said 😀

Blog Exchange

in Adsense/Article/Google by

A traffic exchange is a type of website on the Internet, which provides a service for webmasters to exchange of traffic. Blog exchange is a special traffic exchanges for blogs. A blog exchange program applies this basic idea: view other member’s blog and they will view yours. It is classified in two, automatic and manual.

In the manual blog exchange, you manually click through the other members blog. To earn one visitor you must wait for the programmed time to expire (this varies from 20 or 30 seconds, depending on the blog exchange you signed up for) before clicking the next site in rotation. More often than not, bonus points are given to regular surfers, assuring you of visitors to your blog.

Automatic blog exchange (autosurf) is blog exchanges that automatically rotate advertised blog in one’s Internet browser. Autosurf differs from manual blog exchanges in that the blog rotation is automatic; an ad viewer need not respond or even view the sites.

Such blog exchanges are BlogExplosion, BlogMad, BlogAZoo and BlogAdvance.

Google AdSense

Traffic is the key to getting profit. The more traffic for your blog, the more changes you get click for your AdSense.

Adsense states in its policies on Prohibited Clicks and Impressions:

Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include but are not limited to: repeated manual clicks or impressions, incentives to click or to generate impressions, using robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs, or any deceptive software. Please note that clicking on your own ads for any reason is prohibited, to avoid potential inflation of advertiser costs.

You can not join autosuft traffic exchange for your blog or site that display Google AdSense. How abou manualsurf? Although it is not specifically mentioned in the policies regarding manual surfing, it still is a tool that generates impression and part of a click-exchange program.

I’m not really sure to join blog exchange for my blog that display Google AdSense. My personal experience, there is a litle even no click result from blog exchange. When I asked Google Team about manual surf, they said:

Hello,

We understand that you would like to have more traffic visiting your site. However, we do not endorse or encourage the use of any traffic exchange programs for this purpose.

We recommend that you exercise caution when using traffic exchange programs to ensure that you do not violate the AdSense Terms and Conditions and that you do not artificially inflate your pageviews or clicks. Please note that AdSense participants are solely responsible for verifying that any tools or software used in conjunction with AdSense do not violate the AdSense Terms and Conditions.

For your reference, you can find tips and guidelines for keeping an AdSense account in good standing by visiting our Help Center at https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=23921.

To protect your interests as well as those of our advertisers, Google monitors clicks and impressions on Google ads to prevent any abuse of the AdSense program. Google’s proprietary technology analyzes all ad clicks and impressions for any activity intended to artificially drive up an advertiser’s costs or a publisher’s earnings.

Clicks or impressions deemed by our monitoring system to be invalid will appear in your reports, but because advertisers are not charged for them, no associated revenue will be shown. Please rest assured that your account is being properly credited for all valid clicks and impressions.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Bottom Line

  • There is still no answer about manual surf with google AdSense.
  • If you do not really sure to join blog exchange that show your AdSense, disable them as soon as possible.
  • You can still enable you AdSense with your own risk 🙂
  • You can control your AdSense display using Phpadsnew. You can setup that your AdSense will not show up when visitor come from your blog exchange.

in Article by

PayPal now available in Indonesia! This is a good news for Indonesian to use PayPal for their online transaction.

Many times ago we (Indonesian) could not apply for PayPal account 😉

PayPal is an e-commerce business allowing payments and money transfers to be made through the internet. It serves as an electronic alternative to traditional paper methods such as checks and money orders. – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal

One day, I contact PayPal to provide services for Indonesia (June 26, 2006). They said:

Thanks for contacting PayPal. I appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your questions.

We sincerely appreciate your interest in becoming a PayPal member. Unfortunately, we are not yet providing services for Indonesia or
region in question. … [deleted]

Today, I just visit PayPal site. I try to create PayPal account even I “know”, I can not make it. I have tried to create PayPal account and always failed because PayPal does not available in Indonesia. But today I can create my PayPal account, because PayPal available in Indonesia now. Huraay…

Create PayPal Account

How to create an Ubuntu ISO using Jigdo

in Linux/Tutorial/Ubuntu by

Jigdo

Jigdo is a tool for distributing and obtaining Debian ISOs in an easy, fast and very efficient manner. You can use this tool for Ubuntu Linux too.

You can learn more about Jigdo from Debian-Jigdo.

Here is a guide to create an Ubuntu iso using jigdo.

Downloading Your First Image

Please use these following steps if you are starting from scratch and don’t have any Debian ISOs on hand:

Install Jigdo

First install the jigdo-file package:

sudo apt-get install jigdo-file

Download The .template And .jigdo Files

For each ISO image you want to download, you’ll need both the .jigdo and .template file for that image. For example if you want to create Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) Beta iso:

wget http://us.releases.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu-6.10-beta-alternate-i386.jigdo
wget http://us.releases.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu-6.10-beta-alternate-i386.template

You can choose another mirror of course 😉

Run jigdo-lite

Run jigdo-lite and give it the .jigdo file of the image you want to download.

jigdo-lite ubuntu-6.10-beta-alternate-i386.jigdo
Jigsaw Download "lite"
Copyright (C) 2001-2004 | jigdo@
Richard Atterer | atterer.net
Loading settings from '/root/.jigdo-lite'

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Images offered by 'edgy-alternate-i386.jigdo':
  1: 'Ubuntu 6.10 "Edgy Eft" - Daily Build i386' (edgy-alternate-i386.iso)

Further information about `edgy-alternate-i386.iso':
Generated on Mon, 09 Oct 2006 07:34:27 +0100

-----------------------------------------------------------------
If you already have a previous version of the CD you are
downloading, jigdo can re-use files on the old CD that are also
present in the new image, and you do not need to download them
again. Mount the old CD ROM and enter the path it is mounted under
(e.g. '/mnt/cdrom').
Alternatively, just press enter if you want to start downloading
the remaining files.
Files to scan:

You have notihing to scan because you’re starting from scratch and have no Ubuntu ISOs yet.

Specify A Mirror

By default, jigdo-lite pulls the mirror from your /etc/apt/sources.list. If you want to use a different mirror, you would specify a different mirror here. If this is the mirror you want to use, press ENTER. Jigdo-lite will then write a .jigdo-lite file in your home directory.

If you want to change the default mirrors you use with jigdo at any time in the future, you can modify in ~/.jigdo-lite.

Downloading Of The ISO

After you specify the mirror(s), jigdo-lite will begin downloading files to assemble the ISO image. It will take some time, you should to wait until this proccess finish.

😀 Well done!

Free E-mail Icon Generator

in Article/Blogging by

Email Icon Generator

You can keep your email address safe on the web using an image file that show your email address. The reason behind this is that spambots (the automated computer programs which scan for e-mail addresses on the web) can read text in links, but there?s no way they can detect the content of an image, only that an image exists. Email icon turns your plain and ordinary email address into a stylish email badge using the appropriate logo for your email service (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo!, AOL and many others are supported). You can create your email icon yourself or using free email icon generator service.

Descriptions

  • E-Mail Icon Generator lets you create a badge with your email address.
  • The icon can be used to link to your email address on web sites, blogs and forums, for example.
  • E-Mail Icon Generator supports Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, AOL address and a few other domains.
  • You can download your own copy or use an icon generated by E-Mail Icon Generator as it is used.
  • Use only the icon (and no mailto: link) to prevent spammers from collecting your address.

Four tips for asking Google to ban your Website

in Article/SEO by

Are you asking Google to penalize or ban your website? Perhaps it’s a simple question. There are many people complaining that their website have been banned by Google and they “have no idea why”. This is a very important thing to share about this situation.

Page Rank

Page Rank is Google’s way of giving a specific value to how popular your website is. It is based on the number of “votes” other websites cast for your website. A “vote” is simply when another website places a link on their website that is pointing to your website. Generally, the more “votes” or links you have pointing to your website, the higher your Page Rank (PR) will be. Page Rank is “1” of the many factors that Google takes into account when ranking websites.

Some webmasters will do anything ways to make a higher page rank for their website, even something wrong and cause their website to get banned by Google.

How to know if you have been banned by Google

You can check your website in the Google’s search result. First go to Google then enter your entire URL into Google’s search box. This website was in Google’s index at one time. If you search your website today, and Google says “Sorry, no information ia available for the URL…”, this means that the URL is no longer in Google’s database.

Here are four factors that can cause Google to ban your website:

1. Title Tag Stuffing

The title is what appears in the top left hand corner of your webpage. This is an example of Title Stuffing.

Title Tag Stuffing

2. Meta tag Stuffing

Webmasters throw in thousands of the same exact keyword into their meta tags. For example, the following website is trying to rank well for “seo”.

<meta NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="SEO,
seo, Seo, SEO, seo, Seo, SEO, seo, Seo,
SEO, seo, Seo, SEO, seo, Seo, SEO, seo,
Seo, SEO, seo, Seo, SEO, seo, Seo, SEO,
seo, Seo, SEO, seo, Seo, SEO, seo, Seo,
SEO, seo, Seo, SEO, seo, Seo, SEO, seo,
Seo, SEO, seo, Seo, SEO, seo, Seo, SEO,
seo, Seo">
</meta>

3. Alt Image Tag Spamming

This is another way that people will try to cram keywords into their website, allowing search engines to see their keywords, but not allowing visitors to notice any difference in their website.

Alt Image Tag Spamming

The following is a website that wanted to rank well for “seo”. What they’ve done is inserted a graphic. They’ve then added an alt image tag to the graphic. When a visitors visits the website, hovers their mouse over the graphic, a little popup will appear.
