Google AdSense Video Units

in Adsense/Blogging/Google/Internet/Monetize by

Today, Google Adsense introduced a new ads unit, Google AdSense Video Units.

AdSense how has an option for affiliates or publishers to earn commission by displaying YouTube video content on their sites.

You can now place select Youtube videos on your site and get paid for doing so. Nice… 😉

We’re excited about the launch of video units — a new way to enrich your site with quality, relevant video content in an embedded, customizable player. Simply embed a snippet of code and have relevant YouTube partner content streamed to your site. You can choose categories of video to target to your site, select content from individual YouTube partners, or have video automatically targeted to your site content. Companion and text overlay ads are relevant and non-intrusive. To further blend the YouTube player into your site, you can also customize the color scheme and layout as well as choose from three different player sizes.

If you are ready to get started now, and head for the AdSense Setup tab. Click the video units link and you’ll be on your way to setting up your first video unit.

Change Default Thumbnail Size in WordPress 2.3

in Blogging/Tutorial/Wordpress by

Here is a simple guide how to change the default size of the thumbnails that WordPress 2.3 creates when you upload an image.

It is actually quite easy to change – it just requires modification of one WordPress file.

From time to time I wonder just how big the image thumbnails are, and occasionally I even ponder how to go about changing that thumbnail size.

The size for the thumbnail creation in WordPress 2.3 could be changed in the /wp-admin/includes/image.php file.

Just open the file and search for:

$max_side = apply_filters('ws6q9jzl7p_thumbnail_max_side_length',
128, $attachment_id, $file);

and change it to:

$max_side = apply_filters('ws6q9jzl7p_thumbnail_max_side_length',
256, $attachment_id, $file);

That will double the thumbnail size like mine 😉

Well done and have a great day!

Google Gadget Ads

in Adsense/Blogging/Google/Internet/Monetize/Review by

Google officially launched Google Gadget Ads, customized “mini-sites” that run as ads on AdSense publisher websites.

These ads are interactive, engaging, and will appeal to your users, simultaneously providing value to advertisers while getting visitors to stick around your site.

The AdWords Gadget program has been built to quite simply turn widgets into ads. These websites within websites can draw in dynamic content including data feeds, maps, images, audio, Flash, HTML and JavaScript content to serve an audience in over 100 countries with no hosting charges attached.

The ads can then be embedded and users of your brand can share them amongst friends. Built on the iGoogle platform, companies like AOL and IBM are already using them to drive traffic.

Google will let you choose specific sites to run you Gadget Ad, or you can leave it to Google’s ad targeting to place your ad on relevant web pages.

Check out some samples of the Google Gadgets Ads gallery.

Have a great day! 🙂

BlogRush – Free Traffic for Your Blog

in Blogging/Fun/Internet/Monetize/Widget/Wordpress by

Do you need more readers for your blog? The most basic needed for the bloggers is always how to get more readers or in the other is how to “finding traffic”. Right?

BlogRush is a free service that was created to help bloggers get more readers for their blogs.

BlogRush is essentially a way to syndicate content across blogs. By adding the BlogRush Widget to a blog, a blogger can get instant distribution for their latest blog post titles across a network of related blogs.

How does BlogRush work?

BlogRush users earn “syndication credits” (the right to have their blog post titles shown inside a widget on another related blog) based on their own traffic (loads of the widget) as well as the traffic of other users they refer to BlogRush. Users can automatically refer others to BlogRush via special links on the widget, as well as through the promotion of a special referral URL they are given.

BlogRush is a “Cooperative Syndication Network” that rewards its users for their contributions to the network — from the impressions they provide of the BlogRush Widget to the referral of other users through 10 ‘generations’ of activity and the impressions of the widget that they provide. BlogRush was designed to be incredibly viral and to provide its users with tremendous distribution leverage to receive exposure for their blog content (onto related content blogs) that they could never achieve on their own; at least without a massive advertising budget.

Will You Get Traffic From BlogRush?

BlogRush WidgetThe short answer is yes, of course you will get some. However don’t expect miracles. Even if the uptake on BlogRush is significant, which it will be, in my experience the click-through rates on these sorts of traffic exchanges are terrible.

How to use Blogrush

  • First, you need create a Blogrush account,
  • You can add your blog into your Blogrush profile,
  • Get the code and put this on your blog’s sidebar,
  • Sit back and you will get more readers for your blog.

Have a great day and gud lak! 🙂

AGLOCO, which stands for A Global Community, will pay You to surf the web.

In another word, You can earn money from Agloco when you surf the web.

Today, I get email from Agloco to announce that Ask.com will soon become AGLOCO’s official worldwide default search provider. They (AGLOCO) are very excited about that. Hmm….

Here is from my email:

Dear Supriyadi Slamet,

We are very excited to announce that Ask.com will soon become AGLOCO’s official worldwide default search provider.

For those of you not aware of Ask.com, here is some recent information. According to the August 14, 2007 report, of the University of Michigan’s American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), Ask rates right with Yahoo and Google in customer satisfaction – Ask 75, Yahoo 79 and Google 78. Also, ForeSee Results added that, “Ask has had the biggest increase of any e-business company measured by the ACSI, up 21% since it was first measured… Ask.com seems to be well-positioned to rival Google in the coming years because it has a strong search technology lauded by analysts and users alike.”

We will be adding Ask to the Viewbar search area in the next couple of days. The AGLOCO Development tem has been using the Ask.com search site the last month and we are very impressed with the results. We hope you will be too.

This is a very important step for AGLOCO. It is our first major revenue partnership and should greatly improve our earnings starting in October. We will update you further as the Ask.com search come online in the Viewbar.

As usual, more and quicker updates are available on the AGLOCO company blog.

Here is some opportunity to generate revenue from Google Adsense with your Bahasa Indonesia pages:

AdSense Referrals 2.0 goes to all AdSense publishers

in Adsense/Blogging/Internet/Monetize by

Google Adsense launched a referrals beta program in this March. But now, a referrals 2.0 program will soon be available to all AdSense publishers in referrals-supported languages, as they said on Adsense blog, Referrals 2.0 launches to all AdSense publishers.

AdSense referrals is a program that lets you put ads on your site, but instead of being payed per view or per click, you get payed per action. That means in order to get paid the user has to click on the ad and then complete some action such as joining a newsletter or making a purchase.

Adsense referrals will greatly expand the inventory and functionality of referrals for AdSense publishers, such as:

  • Expanded product inventory,
  • Category and keyword targeting,
  • Ad unit optimization,
  • Better targeting for pages with multiple themes,
  • Greater compensation for high-quality traffic, and
  • Add your seal of approval.
Adsense Referrals 2.0

Get Started

To get started with referrals, click the AdSense Setup tab in your account, then click Referrals. If you don’t see referrals 2.0 right away, please check back in a few days, as the feature will gradually become available in all accounts over the next few weeks. Please also keep in mind that for some languages, advertisers are just getting started so ad inventory may be limited at this time. We encourage you to check back frequently to see new offers.

Luckily, I can see referrals 2.0 from my Adsense account. I will give a try for this program 😉 How about you?

Apple Safari Web Browser for Windows

in Article/Blogging/Internet by

Apple has introduced a beta version of its Safari Internet browser especially for Windows operating system.

This announcement was made by Apple’s chief executive Steve Jobs on Monday, and could possibly be Apple’s take on Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s FireFox Web browsers.

Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, said Apple “dream big” and wanted to expand the 4.9% market share Safari enjoys.

He said Safari was “the fastest browser on Windows”, saying it was twice as fast as Internet Explorer.

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer has a 78% share, while Firefox has rapidly climbed to gain around 15% of the market, claimed Steve Jobs. He also mentioned that just like other Web browsers, Safari would be available at no charge at all.

Safari for Windows

Just Two My Cents

Recently, I’m Firefox user. I use this web browser both for my Windows and Ubuntu. But I was so curious for the Safari Web browser. Unfortunately, I can not try this browser because I do not have Mac (yet) 😉 Luckily, I can try this browser now.

Have a great day and gud lak!
